You all know the python right? You attach it to your facuet and put one end in the tank. You twist something to change the direction of the water. How do you add dechlorinator with it?

When I used Decholrinator, I would add it to the tank and then just refill with the Python.

I've seen many people say that should add sufficient dechlorinator for your whole tank volume, not just the amount you are changing, but I've never seen a scientific explanation of that offered....*shrug*

Same here. I usually overdose with dechlorinator just before, during or after the python is refilling and never had an issue.

Its better to add too much than not enough dechlorinator - you cant really overdose it but you can underdose so I guess its just being cautious!

I too use the python. Dose enough dechlor for the tanks whole volume rather than the amount of water you are adding.

I tend to split it, if I need to add 10ml of dechlor, I add 5ml before I start refilling the tank then the other 5ml at the end

Add dechlor directly to the tank before filling. No need to break it up into seperate doses. Overdosing isn't really an issue with modern dechlorinators, just dose the volume of the tank and call it good.
