How do you access chat?

Hi guys - I would just like to find out how people generally connect to the chat room if at all, and if the problems of a few trying to access it are widespread and need to be resolved or if it is down to not downloading the latest java: http/java.sun.com/webapps/getjava/Browse...www.java.com:80

I don't go in the chat room very often, but when I do, I just click on the link.

When I click on chat is asks me to install something - I always click yet

When it loads I get a box at the top of the screen (no labels and you cannot click in it)

At the bottom I get 2 lines/boxes - Public and Private but I am unable to type anything in here.

I cannot insert files on this part of the forum which is a shame as I took a snap shot of my screen

i use irc at work since our systems security is good. but at home, since viruses can easily get into your system through irc, i only come in through the forum link.

I'm an irc convert, used to use java but now I've got used to irc its great

hey william i downloaded java and it still doesnt work. its just says public and private and i cat do anything.

Also an IRC convert like Sunflower. But I have to use a mac friendly one. Any Mac users out there want a free IRC client, Just PM me, or If William wants Me to post it up here can do!

At home I usually use mIRC, but at school or anywhere else, I click on the link at the top of the page.
