How Do U Get A Bn Interested In Breeding

hi i have 2 adult female bns and 1 male bn but he doesnt show any interest in my females.is there anything i can do to get him interested in them.both females have laid eggs in the past but b4 i got them.ive had females around 3mths now and the male i raised myself so hes about 1yr old now.any ideas plz

He shouldn't be showing interest in females, he should be showing interest in a secure cave. Have you provided him with a selection of caves (about 1 inch diameter, 6-8 inches long, one end closed) to chose from?

i have plenty of coconuts and caves for them to lay eggs in but my male just aint showing any interest.1of the females was sort of showing him she was ready but he just didnt wanna know.hes not cleaning any of the hides ready for mating or nothing,hes just not interested.wondered if theres anything i could do to help matters.either that or hes gay lol

if you feed them a good diet for a week or 2 on vegetable and bloodworm and algae wafers so they will be strong enough to raise the fry the male will need especially because he is constantly looking after the eggs once they have been laid fanning them and making sure no other fish comes near the cave entrance what worked for me was feed them well for a fortnight then do a 50percent water change with quite cold water and drop the heater a few degrees down and a day or 2 later i seen eggs in his cave

This is what i used to do to get mine started once they start spawning they will spawn like clock work every month

Driftwood, peat in the filter, leaf litter substrate. It helps to toss in a bit of higher protein micro food, bbs or decaps work well.

Do a colder water change... It simulates the rainy season for them and that's when the BN know when to breed u want the water to change a few degrees but don't go too cold keep them well fed and healthy and u should do fine.... Or he's gay.... LOL

Try feeding some canned green beans (the no salt added kind). Also let them have some frozen blood worms. Then try timing a big water change to the arrival of a storm- rain or snow etc. Anything that drops the barometric pressure.
