i have a 30 gall tank...with a primary HOB filter (jus changed filter media) , secondary internal filterand a base filter...2 days ago i found out my 2 of my angel fish had fin rot so im treating it now...but now i realised i have ich in my tank to..all my guppies and swordtail have died...i used to have 4 platys, 1 small cory, 1 rhino plec..1swordtail, 2 angel and 5 guppies...but all the guppies and swordtail died...how do i treat both at the same time??? im currently doing a dip on my angels byt putting them in a hospital tank with a concentrated dose of finrot med for 15 mins each time, 2 times a day...im also doing 25% watrer change each day...

ammonia: 0.5-1ppm (probably caused by changing filter media)
nitrite:0
nitrate:10-20ppm
ph..not sure as i ran out of tests...

how do i cure both at the same time??? im currently using a med called white spot special for the ich and a med called botanicure for the finrot...can i mix boh meds in together???

I currently have the same problem with ich and possibly fin rot, but not sure if it's fin rot or being caused by the white spot on the fins... my angels fins were tattered and looking terrible and had white specs all over their fins and body. i'm no expert, not even close, on fish diseases but i thought i'd share what's working for me. The first day i noticed the problem i raised the temp to 84, added 1 teaspoon of melafix for every 5 gallons of water and added 1 well rounded tablespoon of aquarium salt for each 5 gallons of water and turned the filter off for 8 hours immediately after adding...on the forth day the white specs on both catfish and one angel were completely gone and the other fish were getting better. i did a 75% water change, added a new dose of salt...but only the proper amount to coincide with the water change, it's important that before you add more salt you do a water change..i skipped the melafix this time and now, 2 days later, the white specs are gone on all my fish and my angels fins are back to normal! So within a week this treatment is definitely working. I am shocked at how quickly things turned around in my tank and i didn't lose any fish. I'm planning another water change in 2 days and will add more salt, i'm told to continue this treatment for 2 weeks. One thing though you should be sure all your fish can tolerate salt, i read that some fresh water fish cannot. Mine had no problem, i have 2 angels, 2 oscars, 2 catfish, a chinese algae eater and a gourami. Hope this helps, I had to share this simple remedy that's working for me. good luck :)

Finrot quite common on top of whitespot , sometimes the whitespot med can heal fins.

"Waterlife Protozin or Myxazin" will do both and "Wardley's Promethyasul" should also do it.
If you have catfish and loaches in the tank then try to get the Waterlife Myxazin. If you use the Protozin then use it at half strength for the catfish and loaches.
