How do I tell what sex they are?

Hi all. I know this information has been posted before, but I have searched and cannot find it. When I first got my goldfish I wanted to know what they were for curiosity's sake and to explain some behavior. Now, however, all four of my fish have stars on their gill plates. Do females ever get these? It seems totally weird that I would get all males by chance!

All of my fish fit those descriptions. Does that mean I have all males? My fish are probably right at a year old. I bought them when they were about 1.5" long. That was last April.

If they show them little whitespots on there gills and front fins they are males.

That's sooo weird. What are the odds that I would have four males at random?!

BTW... is this going to be a problem, them chasing one another and such? Do they NEED Females?

How big is the tank as with four males you will need alot of space for them.
