YES THERE IS COZ IV DONE IT B4
DEN Y R U ASKIN? IF UVE DUN IT B4 DEN DERE SHUD B NO NEED 2 ASK. DERE IS NO WAY U WILL GET URE BETTAS TO BREED IN A COMUNITY TANK, BUT DERE IS PLENTY OF WAYS TO GET DEM BOTH KILLED.
Understand dat... sorry, that better?
I actually bet that was hard to do? Wasn't it.
And now to address the question. If you are experiencing nitrites, I would worry about that rather than trying to breed fish. Nitrites are toxic to fish. Nitrates, on the other hand, are less toxic, and at time, reducing their levels can make for a better breeding environment, as many species are sensitive to nitrate levels. That being said, bettas do not breed successfully in a community tank. If you interested in breeding, take the time to read pinned articles, good books, and be prepared to take some responsibility for your actions. Breeding isn't about throwing a male and a female and seeing what happens. The people that breed here take into consideration many factors, including, color, tail-type, etc. They are working with quality bettas from specialty breeders, not bettas from your LFS, which are often too old to breed, and most of the time will produce spawns with serious genetic problems.
I know and understand how fun it is to breed fish, but you must be able to handle the extra load that that responsibility entails.
I hope this helps a little, and have a good day.
