How Do I Get Food To Sink ?

I have been feeding my fish cucumber and cant stopit floating. any ideas how i can safely weight it down ?

The way I did it was to use an old fork (obviously one that I wouldn't want to use again!) and place it with the prongs facing downwards in the gravel to avoid fish getting scratched. They will nibble away at the cucumber off the fork. When it's all gone, remove the fork!

I think you can also buy food weights from certain LFS, but I've not tried them.

I keep the folded bits of lead you get on the bottom of plants, then just shove that through the cucumber near one edge, fold it over so the sharp corners are covered, and then lob it in :)

I don't get any problem with getting food to sink.

I blanche my cucumber or courgette for a couple of minutes, put it into the tank and it sinks and stays there until it's eaten.

I have a plastic clip that has a sucker to attach it to the side of the tank. You then just clip on any food you want (eg cucumber). Only cost about £1.50 from the LFS.

i stick my cucumber in a cup with some water and pop it in the microwave, give it a minute or so and its taken up some of the water itll sink , just remember to let it cool down a little first.
