Recently had silicone/super glue poisoning in my tank and have had two fish end up like this. They are alive and breathing but can’t swim. What do I do? All fish were moved from the tank a day ago into fresh water and overnight they ended up like this and I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do

Lots of carbon and totally fresh water.
Dose with a heavy dose of Prime dechlorinator too..

But a BIG bag of carbon right in with them asap.

I moved them all into clean water last night and did a water change tonight, I’ve been double dosing prime and yet these two overnight ended up like this. I’m hoping the carbon works I just stuck a huge bag in there

It's not a guarantee, but its a chance.

I had a bunch of fish affected by hand sanitizer, killed some and left many of the survivors blind.

Carbon was extremely helpful trying to get through that situation.

Hang in there, I know it is hard and upsetting to see them affected by something. Just keep changing the water, make sure nothing from the tank they were in is moved to the water theyre in now. Use filters from other tanks, etc, because the equipment could contain the toxins too and just recontaminate the water theyre in right now too.

I’ve moved them into completely different tanks and took out all the water in the old one, rinsed the gravel and live plants and wood. I’m wondering now is there any way to clean the filter without restarting a new cycle? Can I clean the filter to add some new bacteria to when I set up my tank again or do I just restart with a new filter and everything

If you have other tanks, pull some media from those to seed a new filter.

If not, you may have to do a fresh new cycle :(

But the off chance the toxins are still on the surfaces of the old filter and filter media, I just worry it would just keep the toxins in the water anyways.

I have no established other tanks they’re all emergency tanks so I’m assuming I need to restart

Was it silicon or super glue?
When super glue is dry it is harmless to fish.

Aquarium silicon is harmless to fish but other types of silicon used for tiles, bathrooms, etc, have mould inhibitors in them and that is what kills fish.

As for the fish, just change the water every day for a week. If they show improvement after a few days then keep water changes up. If they don't show any improvement after a few days, euthanise them.

It was "mold free" kitchen and bathroom silicone.
