I was just watching my senegal, I know they dont have good eyesight but how can he claim territory if he cant see it to good, I mean when he swims around the tank he always goes back to that same cave and doesn't let anyone inside it, he chases the pleco off when the pleco tries to go inside, how does he know that same cave?
How can he chase other fish off if he cant see them to good?

He will still have vision but will mostly rely on the lateral line which runs down the length of the fish and detects electrical impulses giving off by all fish, using the lateral line your senegal will detect where every fish in the tank is. As for territory fish do have a memory despite what people think therefore remember where the best/most secure hiding places are but again will also rely on chemicals released(by your senegal) within its territory so that he/she can find their way back.
