How deep should it be for my crayfish? I noticed it digging alot in his territorial bridge xD.

I have 2kg worth of sand in there right now. I'm planning to make the sand at least 10% of my tank. :/

(around, 4-6kg worth of sand. I'll make it 6kg when he's larger.)

You need to be careful as the deeper the sand, the more gas pockets will build up. I wouldn't go deeper than 2" personally. That would be ok if he keeps digging around in it.

I dont actually thing the gas pockets do any harm. I havent heard of any deaths related to them. From what i know, they are toxic until they make contact with oxygen.

Gas pockets? Explain please? ):
anerobic pockets that can form when sand/substrate is left sitting for awhile unmoved/unturned. Last I read on the subject, when the stuff hits oxygen it's not toxic anymore. There's usually sufficient oxygen is well planned tank so it shouldn't be an issue.

planned or planted tank?

Oh man, :/ I don't want a planted tank or it'll be crushed by yours truly, Pablo. :D

Should I get like, a bubble wall or an air pump..?

Which is better, what do they do? I've truthfully never worked with them since my main tank has adf's, and they usually dont like water movement, and such as I've been told.

10G tank -- Two 1 week old fry, (cant find them, right now more likely they starved from not seeing the food at top.) One 2.5 week old fry, pretty big and interacts with pablo alot. :) They're pretty cool but I'm moving him out as soon as he gets at least 1.5" (Swordtail fry)

AND OF COURSE, mr crayfish pablo. (My friend wants to name it Dr. Zoidberg though , ;))

He's small, so I dont really mind. I really need to get him more caves and some more sand for him to dig, cause he keeps trying to dig through the bottom glass. :p

Like.. A filter causing water movement? :)

if so, woo.

I'll get 2kg sand tmr. :)

>:D Thanks guys. that's enough for this thread -lets this thread die off-
