You know, I hate myself, as I visit different fishshops almost every weekend. Once I see a fish I like, I just have to buy it. Some of them are very good quality, although in London I can not find show quality goldfish easily as when I was in China. some other just look cute, I have to buy them.

soon you can imagine, my tank is overstocked. everytime I come back home with new fish, I hate myself, but I can not help it :/

I try to get rid of some, but I noticed most ppl here seems not very into goldfish, e.g. in the classified section, I seldom see someone sell their goldfish. anyone can give me some suggestions? Many thanks

but I can not help it :/

Yes you can, lots of people joke about 'oh I'm an addict', I did it myself awhile ago because in my current situation it'd be easier for me to not have fish cause they have to be transported twice a year. But my decision to get fish only leaves me with more work, it doesn't negatively impact on the fish I'm actually keeping.

If you're ever overstocking tanks then your fish will be negatively impacted. So there is no excuse, you are being selfish, simple.

That aside... here are some places to try to re-home them:
aquarist-classifieds.co.uk
The classifieds on here - Although the chances are you will get very little money for your goldfish
gumtree.co.uk
preloved.co.uk
And if you good for say 'south london fish club' (or whichever area you're in), you may get lucky and there may be a fish club in your area with lots of people who own ponds etc who could re-home them for you.

I think one of the main reasons people don't like goldfish isn't so much cause they don't like them (silly as that sounds). It's because they make a hell of a lot of waste and take up alot of room if kept properly. Most people don't want to give that much room to a fish that size... so they opt for tropical instead.

People don't keep goldfish purely as they grow large and aren't as pretty as tropical fish.

I keep goldfish; but once this lot die I don't think I'll be getting anymore (my current lot are 9 years old). I guess thats another reason; they are a LONG term pet compared to some of your tropicals like guppies etc.

Tropicals are easier to look after becasue you don't need a pond to house them. It is a shame really :(

Thanks a lot guys for your suggestion. I do not think I will put them in pond, as they are fancy goldfish, can not compete with normal goldfish. I did that before, gave some to my friends and teach them how to keep fish. But those fish are bullied in the pond and died eventually
