How Can I Build Cabinet For 77x17x18 & 72x30x18

yes m8 was going to do that when i get the new bits that i need for the filter then will be cutting the pipe to size


more pics added to do not much left to do only the shalves and the doors to do then then going to piant it oak color then will be putting in the 3ft tank under neath then do some other things to do adding gravel bogwood some new slate caves to it full up the tank with water then add the fish from others tanks lid will be done in the next couple wks light will be here next wk plus will find some other things to do to the tank anyway heres some more pics its coming to shape now




rest will be done on friday before the wife comes home.
2mrw will be doing the rooms as my brother in law has something to do 2mrw still got loads to do before the wife and kids come home on friday late morning lol

heres a pic of the licks that i am using for the doors

cabinet is made from 12mm 8ft x4ft wpb plywood and from made out of 3x2 treated wood and on 7x breeze blocks and 3x fence post cabinet stands 31.5 ins till and 8ft 6ins long wall to wall

another update cabinet all made all i have to do now is sand it down and varnished it couple times and then get newton to build my hood for the light thats another day here is some pics more on link above

having the hood made for it net wk some time my brother in law not doing
because he sed he wld do the cabinet and the hood for free but on saturday he wanted 100 pounds for doing it and 100pounds for doing the hood for me next so hes not doing it for me as he has gone bk on hes word by charging me money for doing it was going to give him some money for doing but not after that free mean free init not 100pounds was going to buy him some more bears as i brought him a 24 pack of bears on tuesday anyway tank looking good will look better when its varnished and the hood been made will add pics when its made as my mate going to build it at hes palce so will not be able to take pics of him making will update soon.
going to start varnishing it this wk when the wife and kids are down her mums on tuesday weds friday afternoons will add pics of the varnish cabinet when i have done it.
please leave feedback to wot u think of cabinet and wot i have just sed
 
another update varnished then sanded then varnished again waiting for it to dry then ill see if it needs to be done again or not this is wot it looks like now

hood getting made next wk so will look even better when the hood been made and varnished eill take some more pics when its all done and of the hood will not be able to take any pics of the hood being made as its getting made at my m8 house lol

looking good there mate, did you move the tank or varnished around it lol.
been looking into getting the eheim 2080 filter same as yours and found a site doing it for £167 with free p&p so gonna be getting that soon, better then the fx5 :hyper:

no varnished it with it set up done two coats
sanded it first then added a coat of varnish then saned then added another coat still little rough but going to leave it till next wk now to do another coat looks better now then it did when u was over on monday

eheim better then the fx 5 but everyone to there own i like it because its easy nothing really can go wrong with it (eheim) thats a good price seeing there are more then that on ebay

looks loads better, might pop over sometime take a look and have a look at those plecs while were there :hyper:
 
i have varnished it three times looks much better only problem i have now is the doors are sticking now due to varnishing it lol
looks good may do another sand again & then another coat of varnish going to leave it now till friday or tuesday to do that looks good tho having the hood made next wk just got to get the plywood and wood to make it has i have the rest to do it will update when the hood has been made then hoprfully will look really good any way heres a pic of wot it looks like now after the varnished it

try rubbing the door edges down with a stick of beeswax, or failing that, if your wife has an old beeswax candle that she has forgotten about. Just remember to hid the rest of the candle, as it will make it pretty ugly. Start from the base to try to minimize the destruction, on you and the candle if she catches you!
