How Can I Bail Out?

Hi, I'd like to know how I can leave the forum along with any trace that I was here. ie email address etc.

Sounds ominous. Desperate to leave us with no trace! Your email would only be available to admin anyway, so i wouldn't worry too much.

What is the reason for the dramatic exit that requires all knowledge of existence to be removed.

I should imagine by placing this message here you have gone the right route. I believe William, the owner of the site, is the only person that would have the administrative capability to achieve this. I expect he will read this, or a mod will pick up on this and notify William.

Alternatively, I expect you could PM william with your request or a link to this thread.

I'm not sure that I do.
I've enjoyed posting, and receiving helpful advise.
But there's a lot of negative stuff here as well.

I've spent a lot of time (maybe too much) reading different threads, and it seems like a lot of gripes, moans and back biting lately.

I think I should stay away from the dark side

Can't i convince you to re-consider? This is a great forum with loads of great people and great advice. Don't let a minority few spoil it for you? That would be a real shame.

However, I didn't want to cause a panic, and was hoping for an answer from a mod before now.
The real reason for my hasty departure, (even though negativity exists here) is...
I've been the victim of a serious ID theft, and I wanted to remove my profile before I format my pc, change passwords etc.
I only subscribe to this forum and another one about crayfish.
Maybe it's paranoia on my part, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

send a PM to WIlliam, he's the head admin. However, he tends to be a pretty busy guy (university I think if the main time consumer), so I wouldn't expect an immediate response. But, he's probably also the only one with the power to delete a user.

Problem with that is it spreads to all sorts of threads. Though this isn't the main reason the OP is requesting a deletion of their profile, it's hard to avoid what you don't know is there until you've run across it. I've been tempted and have actually left this place more than once because of the sour attitude several members have developed and of the constant threads stating "WalMart sucks!" "PetCo kills fish!" "Don't go to Pets At Home!" etc.

Thank you everyone who has posted it but we've already read it and know it 10,000 times over now.

I can delete the account but all your messages and your username will still appear on the forums, it will just say "donporter" unregistered/guest beside each of them. What I can do for you is change your userid if that would help, I see you don't have a location in your profile and your email address is private so only I can see it, so there would be very little an ID theft could gain from your account.
