Hi all!

I am researching into setting up a nano reef with live rock, fish and maybe the option of a coral or two when things have settled.
I wondered if i had anything to build on so far?

I have a juwel rekord 96l tank with the standard internal filter with a 100w heater as well as a fluval 305 external filter.
I know without even thinking about it that the single standard tube hood will be on its way!

Is what i have already a decent starting point? and what hardware/equipment should i be looking at next?

cheers everyone :good:

Hi

Yes it was used as FW originally, but i can confirm absolutley no copper based treatments have ever entered!

I would suggest having a read of some of the nano journals in here and other sites to get a feel for what equip people are using. It looks like you have already made a start researching but he journals gives you a good feel for how it all works when its put together. Also if you have a good LFS or reef specialist locally go and have a good chat with them. If your not sure about their advice just ask on here and see if you ge the same answer.

Personally I would cut out the juwel filter as it will not be suitable for sw although you may wish to use it to help turnover and hide the heater out of the way but I would keep hold of the exernal as you will most likely find this usefull in the future.
