It was the way in which you expressed your opinion that was objectionable to me.

He never said he didn't have the patience to take care of fish. He said he didn't have the patience to wait for silicone to dry for several days. He also didn't say anything which would indicate that he wasn't willing to spend money on a cave for his fish. Rather, he was refuting the comment someone else made to him that he should rush right out and purchase something he'd rather make himself if his fish so urgently need one. His fish don't urgently need one. He wants to make one. He just doesn't want to wait for days for the sealant to set. For all you know, he might have tanks full of discus worth thousands of dollars. Personal attacks are unwarranted here.

Why not wait for silicon sealant to dry. I dont want to wait, as I said, I'm impatient

He specifically stated that he did not need a cave, let alone urgently. It's not like his fish need food and he said he's not willing to go buy it and he's too impatient to wait for mosquito larvae to hatch. He asked a legitimate question. My guess is that he included the bit about being too impatient to wait for silicone to pre-empt all the responses he would have received saying, "Don't use hot glue, use silicone instead." It was his way of letting people know that he was aware that silicone works, but was wondering if there was a quicker method which was still safe for his fish.

The fact that my mouth dropped when I read your response to him, and the fact that he has stated that he was considering not coming to this forum anymore should tell you that you were, in fact, rude.

His fish don't NEED a cave. It's not a necessity. It's something he wanted to make for them, probably for the sake of having a little project, as much as anything else. He obviously does care about or 'love' his fish; otherwise, he wouldn't have gone through the trouble to find this forum and seek out advice. He was looking for straight forward answers to a very simple question. He didn't say or do anything that should have opened him up to personal attacks.

I thought your question was as reasonable or more so than a good deal of other questions that get asked and answered around here. I was perplexed at the hostility that it garnered. My fav hockey team's forum is a bloodbath. Many of the members swear at each other and call each other names and carry on in a most outrageous way. It's so frustrating to have to sort through it all to find the info you want about the team. I very much enjoy how civil this forum generally is.

I have trouble reading??? I'm carrying this on??? This last post of yours clearly demonstrates how you've misunderstood the posts in this thread. The fact that he has said I read his mind shows that I, on the other hand, did understand his point. You apologised in a rather strange manner, saying you were sorry for being rude, but still justified in doing so because he's not the animal lover you are. Where you came up with such a presumption is beyond me.

Finally, if you wish to make comments to which only one person responds, I suggest you do it via private message. Comments posted on these boards are open to response from anyone and everyone.

How on earth does the number of posts you've made have anything to do with whether or not you were rude to Fly? I know for a fact that most of your posts are not rude because I am one of the people who's been trying to help you with your cycling tank and strangely behaved but beloved zebra danio.
