horticultural sand??

Hi there, I bought some sand today. In big letters it says "Economy washed sharp sand". The sand looks great, plenty of fine grain with some larger grain, very natural looking.

However, when I got home I noticed under the large writing this "(horticultural)".

What is horticultural sand? I feared it may mean its got fertilizer in it. However the manufacturer's website edenpark.co.uk states:

"For laying of slabs and general horticultural uses"

So, anyone know better about horticultural sand? is it good for my tank?

I've got some in a jar, its very clean. I'm going to test the water in the jar with the sand for nitrates later.

not sure if this will do n e thing but try boiling the sand
