I have this catfish. Only just found out its breed thanks to this post. Below is a picture of mine (not very good pic cos my camera is poor quality)

When i went to pick up my 4 foot tank i picked my catfish up too.... unknown to us on buying the tank, the owner was gonna 'flush' him. I took a liking to him straight away, but i was a bit nervous in what he would be like with my other fish as i knew nothing about him.

Well, now that i have him i could never part with him. He is so friendly, never botheres my other fish. When i sit in front of my tank he is the first to say 'hi' by swimming left to right then up and down in front of me. He also playes 'football' (lol) with the light plastic colourful toy rocks in the tank so we called him 'Becks'

They are cool fish. Mine is exactly the same, very playful and a real character!!

They are pretty cheap fish to buy aswell if you decided to add any more. A shop close to me seels them at about £4.50.

I thought they would cost more than that.

I would most gladly get more of these, but i think i would have to get around the hubby for another tank first lol.

After having him, i cant understand how anyone could just kill him like that  i'm just glad i took the chance on keeping him

They are great fish with bags of personailty. They do better in small groups though and you would see the best of him/her if you added another 2.

Nice fish, i have 2 in my community tank and they get on well with everyone. just curious, how big is becks?

nice hgoplosternum littorale. I have some hoplosternum thorcata and they are very social.

I don't understand why these fish are cheaper in the UK than in the USA when the USA is closer to South America (well actually thorcata are more expensive. littorale have been established in florida so I could go fish one up with a nightcrawler)
