Its swimming around upside down and on side in cirles?? any ideas? what shall I do??

Sounds like swimbladder to me. My opaline gourami just died from it last month. It is caused my many things such as bad water conditions, injuries, poor diet, no vitamins. So I don't know really what caused it, but it is a difficult disorder to cure. None of my fish ever survived after having swimbladder disorder. :-(

Did you cycle your tank before adding fish? Do you know what your water params are like? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate? What do you feed them? Was her/his poop any different?

Sorry for all the questions, just need to know. :p

That's a tough one but I would probably say it's an internal parasite or a problem with the swim badder. If it's a problem with the swim bladder there isn't much you can do, it's like a broken l;eg that just has to heel on it on and it may never completely heal. If it's an internal parasite than it's difficult to treat a general tonic like Melafix might improve the health (recommended in quarintine). If there are any othe rsymptons that would help the diagnosis (ie changes in the colour, scales, movement or breathing).

The fish is in a quartine net in the tank, its basically laying down on the bottom of the net, every few minutes it swims on its side in circles around and around.

The water is tested fine for everything. I have treated for swim bladder, but dont think it will get through the night, This is the 3rd Gourami that has died, all the other fish are very happy!

anything else I can do?

Sadly I don't think the fish wioll make it, it it's tipping upside down.

well 2 days later, its still in the quarateen net and it looks like its better!! 2 days ago it looked dead!, how longshould I keep it in the net??

It is swiming and feeding properly

Fish do surprise you at times, Glad he's on the mend let him back in the main tank now as don't want to stress him any longer as it won't help with his recovery.

it died today! :byebye:

not being very lucky with gouramies, the water is good

R.I.P. sorry for your loss, they are not one of the hardiest fish.
