Hey Guys,
Just saw this on Graig's List, you think I should get it?? It's doesn't look like a typical aquarium - could it be for salt water? I'm worried bout the parts I'll need to it like a hood. -_-
Thanks!

It's an acrylic. They're actually stronger and optically better than glass but i think it's a bit pricey. Generally they are used for marine but i have a 60 gal. freshwater acrylic. I don't know about hoods though, I built my own. And hob filters are a bit of a problem. Official verdict I think not I only paid 75$ for mine, but the stand was ugly.

Doesn't look to come with anything, just a stand and tank, thus you could use it for what you like. It seems expensive for a small used tank.

Acrylic scratches easily, although they say it has no scratches, it is often not until it is filled and the lights are on that fine scratches show up.

Thanks guys! That helped a ton. . . I was on the fence on purchasing it and now I don't even want it.

Thanks a bunch!

I think it's an OK deal. A new 29 gallon acrylic (with cheap light) goes for $180 on sale and wood stands are pricy as well. I've had a 35 gallon for 14 years and it still looks great.

The only thing that can be an occasional pain is cleaning and adding larger items in the tank since the opening is on the small side.

I would ask what other goodies they could throw into the deal. :)
