i think it needs to have a bit of hose from the sink to the y piece...were does the water run when you turn the tap on? does any go down the pipe to th tank? when you start the tap up where is the pipe...in the tank or lying on the floor?
well the water runs where ever i want it to. If you see the little black switches, those are shut off switches. If i have both open water runs both ways. if i have one open water flows into the one opens etc etc. When i try to start the siphon the hose is already in the tank.
with a proper python kit it wont matter what height the tank is at...it has a proper valve called the python faucet...it creates the vacum, etc....you can buy them for 15 i think online...it will mean your setup will work alot better
you have to be able to ope both ways for the water to go then make the water go stright into the sink if water is flowing from the tap into the tank then your Y connector is not working correctly
add a peice of hose between the connecter and the tap and tilit the Y in such a way the water goes from the tap stright out the Y into the sink
That Y valve will not create a venturi effect, that is what is needed to start a siphon. Look into waterbed fill & drain kits, it's the same idea as a python, without a hose.
hi i dont think you need to create a venturi effect, to start the syphon open valve to tank and turn on tap
when water gets to the tank close the valve turn off the tap open the other valve then open the valve to the tank.
if your tank is higher than the tap then you will have a syphon.
The homemade ones work as well or BETTER than the python if made correctly... Like Tolak Said you need the waterbed fill and drain kit which you connect to the faucet... it's the same as the the one on the python and the only difference with the whole setup aside from cost is the clear tubing... which I dont find necessary.
