hi i have reasantly built a home made breeding trap.
this is the step by step:

1: Get a old butter pot.
2: Cut 4 slits in the side of the pot.(not to big or fry will escape about 1mm width) put one on each side of the pot and add two small holes on each side.
3: In one of the slits cut a small square.
4: Cut for slits underneath of the pot. Again one on each side.
5: Inside push one of those Fake ferns (one of those that are very bushy) into the holes made in step 3.
6: thread a small amount of string through the holes made earlier and tie then knot.on one side add a sucker on one end of each piece of string.
7: Stick the sucker on the outside of the tank.
8: add water and leave for 10 mins.
9:add pregnant fish and wait for fry to arrive.

hope this helps and hope it works it saves you a boat load of money.

HA! you think THAT is DIY... i used breed guppies and i just got my fish bag, poked some holes in it with a needle, chucked in some java moss and chucked in a pregnant female, then floated the bag inside the tank (but water still cycled throguh the bag).
