Holy Poop, Batman!

I do trust you though my nerites never pooped as much.
Both were from pets at home and so 1 died 1 week from the day when they were bough, 2nd lived for a month only or so.
I somehow killed the two I bought as well. They lived for a few months, but died quite soon after each other, and water parameters were great, so I have no idea why. I decided not to replace them though since the amount of pooping and the eggs were driving me nuts. Might try a rabbit snail or two sometime, goofy looking dudes.

I don't think if I'll ever come back to nerites lol, but I'll get some MTS ones.

my nerites have taken their habits to a whole new level.

Makes me wonder how high their bioload actually is. They just really keep pooping and poop more than any fish I've got.

I've gotta move these guys out of the betta tank anyways, the 3 large ones were only in there with her because one of my other tanks they were in was being dewormed with flubendozole which isn't so nerite friendly lol

The really frustrating thing is that I can hoover the poop from under the first piece of wood, and if there is a snail on it at the time, by the time I've done all the wood, the first piece looks like it's never been done, they create it so fast :(
I wonder though if it's all poop in the usual way of thinking - is it mainly just bits of undigested wood mixed with a bit of poop?

I wondered the same thing when I got two nerites. They pooped so much! I swear they pooped more than the nine guppies I had in there combined, and the same thing when I moved the driftwood, poop would just pour off of it. Plus at least one of mine would lay eggs everywhere.

Both of mine died within weeks of each other after I'd had them for eight months or so, still have no idea why. While I'd got attached and was sad they died, I do admit I don't miss the mess they make and decided not to replace them. Considering a rabbit snail at some point though, I hope they poop less.

Food for the plants, food for the MTS I never clean up after my nerite in this tank. Hardly ever lift the wood though ;)
(I have culled a lot of MTS since that vid - but as the tank is currenlty around 29C there will no doubt be lots more on the way ;))

Such a gorgeous tank, I'm so jealous! lol. The CPD's, the plants looking so healthy and lush, the shrimp, nerite making a cameo, it's lovely it really is.

Since I'm switching to sand substrate, I had thought I might get some MTS to help keep the sand turned over, would I regret that?

Certain members regard MTS as the spawn of the devil but many others, me included, like them and have them in our tanks. I've got black ones rather than the usual brown speckly ones. As with the 'pest' snails, the key to population control is not overfeeding the fish.
