And this popped out bold as brass at feeding time i was amazed i nearly fell of my chair! its big and in a hole like a hermithairy and looks to filter

but what is it and what to do with it its amazing eats right of my pippette

wow that looks cool, i have no idea what it is i shall be following this thread closely :)

Def looks like a crustacean of some sort, some species of crab that could possibly use those "wings" to catch marine snow and its claws for bigger food

the top part is bluer in life, i realy hope i can keep it. yea it seems to filter with those wings, there are two smaller ones below the large ones wthat look like they pick at stuff the big ones come out first, its approx 4 times a s big as my hermits, but pops back in his hole like one when you get close and covers the hole with his big ol claws

Could it maybe be in this family? Some of the crab pics look like they have big "wings" like this guy has...Crabs

yea thanks looks most similar to blue 2. second row 3 in, white with brown stripes much haairier, i am going to try to get a video of it out and eating, he feels around with them big wings then snatches stuff great viewing

realy realy cool charging camera now

cant believe no ones identified the little beasty yet usually it takes seconds on this forum for an ID, im really interested in what this is, c'mon somebody must know

A Mantis....i really hope not! snails and hermits have trampled all over him seems quite relaxed, he will not leave his hole, he is like a hairy hermit stuck in a rock, a lazy hermit.

i've another vid uploading, it may help with its hermit like behavior.

on closer inspection it is not a hole in the rock at all... its a shell welded on to the rock with years of growth...

here you can see his pincers in the hole, next to one of my regular hermits, called peanut. poor fella

No idea at all on this, but its damn cool regardless. I want on!! (Provided its nice and friendly to everything else) :good:
