So I'm sitting upstairs watching the Cubs pound the Cardinals when I hear a drip-drip-drip. Our 1922 house has had loads of plumbing disasters since we moved in 4+ yrs ago so I'm thinking a faucet has disintegrated in the upstairs bathroom. Nope, coming from downstairs. Uh-oh!
Water streaming on the floor, into the basement, from my 30G F/W tank! Good thing I have my 75G reef, I run downstairs and grab the 35G Rubbermaid tub I use to mix saltwater and race upstairs, thinking I can use the powerheads from the filter and UV to drain the tank into the tub as fast as I can.
Uh-oh ... the return from my UV is the cause. Somehow dislodged out of the tank and water is leaving that onto the floor. At least it isn't the tank.
Back to basement, grab the wet-dry vac and vac up the room. Then the basement. Then back to the tank, another vac, towels to dry. Inspect. All clear. Refill tank. Hold breath and turn it on.
Got the return fairly well wedged in now. Gotta figure outa permanent bracket arrangement, obviously.
