Hello every1,

I am going on holiday on the 18th of august and my molly has just given birth and i was wondering if you can buy food blocks esspecially for babies. I have a block for my big fish but am bafflled how im going to feed my babies when im on holiday. I cannot let any1 inside my house because the alarm will be on.

Thanks
Luke

P's My molly has develooped a white patch by its gills, I know it isnt white spot or fungus but does anyone know what it is. You can email me at [email protected] for any pictures.

hi
are your babies separate from mum in a breeder net/box in your main tank? if not you'll need to separate them or she(or any other fish you have) will eat them.
we had the same prob when we went away in january for 2 weeks we had one surviving tiny mollie fry in a breeder box in our main tank & no-one to come in to feed & only one auto feeder. i put a few catfish tabs in the fry box & a couple of algae covered plants in their too & amazingly she survived & tripled in size whilst we were gone. i guess the catfish tabs dissolved/softened so she could nibble at them & also nibbled at the algae on the plants i dropped in there.
it wasnt ideal & i felt guilty in case there wasnt enough food but it worked & our baby is now thriving about an inch long & in our main tank.
id definately get some algae or catfish tabs & drop a couple in your breeder net before you go if theres nothing else you can do....it will give them some food & should hopefully be enough for them. they'll just be like mini feeding blocks. i dont actually like those feeding blocks as they tend to pollute your tank - auto feeders are much better or your fish can survive quite a few days with no food no problem. (although this is not the case for fry obviously.)
good luck & have a good holiday :D

i had a tetra prime holiday block and took a big risk by leaving that in the breeder net with them, when i got back they had doubled in size and were perfectly healthy. it was a tetra prime block.
good luck and happy hols
