I'm a newbie 5 days into cycling a new reef tank with live rock. One of the hitchhikers I have is a tube sticking out of an underhang in the reef. This tube is translucent and moves around in the sand sucking up sand particles within its reach. With a flashlight, I can see the particles flowing up (and sometimes down) the tube. The top of the tube appears to be coming from a hole in the rock, though with the angle it is difficult to see. The tube seems to be out and active all the time regardless of what lights are on in the tank. Given its location, it is out of reach of any direct lighting. Can anyone identify this and tell me if it is a friend or foe?

Here are the best pictures I could get showing the location of the tube and the tube itself. It is about 1" long.

Thanks...That's what I would have guessed. Being new, I thought I should ask in case breaking down and capturing the critter might be recommended. Clearly, that would not be fun as the rock was put in before the sand and it would be like starting over. For now, it's something interesting to watch.
