USA,
what is the highest PH that a goldfish can live in? i read high 7's.

gf can tolerate up to 8 maybe up to 8.2.

wow. goldfish seem to be the most tolerant fish. to bad that they didnt stay small.

yes, goldfish are the most "tolerant" (mistreated) fish. (or are bettas...?)
the ph at work is usually 8.4 and the goldies seem to be alright with it. mine at home is around 8 and i have had my goldfish for a long time with no problems.
why do you ask?

i think its goldfish, being in the bowls and only living two years when they really can live for like 45, is it?
my waters ph went up, and was wondering if the would be fine in it,

once the fish are established ph isnt a problem its when first adding them that it needs to be at decent levels ,fish will adapt to water changes as long as there not too abrupt and a shock to there systems :p

GoldFish and other Carp acctually preffer harder and more alkaline water, There Ideal is above 7.2 But I've seen them in waters Of about 8 and a half.
