High Alkalinity

I just tested my tank for alkalinity today and it is reading at 5.5!!! Is there a way to lower this? (Everything else tested OK! ) Thanks!!!

Do you mean PH? If so then you need ot raise it.. It should read about 8.2

Or do you mean kh? if so then again you need it to be about 10.

From my understanding, Alkalinity and Ph are two different things (Was told this yesterday...). Can someone please clarify and send me some docs supporting it? Thanks!

pH should be 8.1-8.4

For a reef dKh should be between 9-11.

I don't know the conversion on alk from the German scale to dKh...

Ph = Low(Acidic) or Moderate(neutral?) Or High(Alkaline) ..
