My test kits have the following chart:
Nitrate(NO+3)ppm (mg/L) Freshwater
Nitrite(NO-2)ppm (mg/L) Freshwater
Total Hardness (GH) ppm (mg/L) Freshwater
Total Alkalinity (KH) ppm (mg/L) Freshwater
ph- Freshwater
Ammonia (NH3/NH+4) ppm (mg/L) Freshwater
I filled a new 2.5 on the 18th with tap water and conditioner, checked it everyday since.
Today the KH is off the charts 300 or more. Everything else is fine.
I'm waiting to add a betta until the water if perfect for him.
I haven't gotten the silk plants to add to the tank yet and I didn't know if adding those would make a difference to the water quality.
Should I do nothing and check it again tomorrow? Or is there something I should to do fix the KH balance now?
