Hello everyone!
I have been looking through some of the threads on this rather splendid site over the last couple of days and have decided to take the plunge and become a fully fledged member. I used to be a keen keeper of tropical fish but as I am in the armed forces and rarely in one place long enough to care for them I was forced, very reluctantly, to give it up (about five years ago). Recently I was given an Orca Nano MT-50 (a far smaller tank than I have previously owned) and I couldn't resist the urge to rekindle my hobby. I filled it with gravel and water and left the built in filter running on a fish-less cycle for a week. Today I made my first addition to the tank with a small shoal of six Neon Tetras. And that is pretty much where I am currently, looking forward to enjoying this great hobby again and waiting patiently for a week to make some more additions to the tank!
Thanks for reading and I very much look forward to getting involved in the forums and meeting you all.
Nik.
