Have you got air pump with air stone or a wavemaker or perhaps a spare filter, anything like that?

If so, you can use that to keep oxygen exchange by agitating water surface and putting the filter media in a net or something and put that inside the tank.

Will be fine as just a temporary measure until you get a replacement edge filter or even any small HOB might fit.

No. All as it was when it came out the box.
Looks like I may have to contact them. Doesn't seem normal for water to just collect at the base and then overflow and pour out over everything.

Definitely not normal... I would contact them.
