hey i have come in to possession of a 90 gallon tank and i was wandering how to set up a tropical fish environment with live plants and sand or gravel and wanted to see if i can get some tips or pointers, also do i need a specal stand for it or should it be fine on the desk i have it on now (not filled)

First things first, you'll need to research fishless cycling. While that's starting, you can add the gravel and decorations.

Also, welcome to the forum!

I did I just haven't found much on the love plants and setting that up

Hi there, welcome to the forum.

1st things 1st. If you have a 90gallon tank, it will certainly NEED some kind of stand. Weather its a homemade or 1 from a pet store. 90gallons of water will flatten a desk. A desk might be able to hold 90ltrs, bit not gallons.

There is a good beginers guide in the welcome part of this forum that has some great information on starting a new freshwater tank. I have used this myself many times.

Hope to see and read on your progress :good:
