Hey do you think that your common pleco is active or do you think he hides to much and you never see him? I think mine is somewhat active he hides during the day but towards the end of the day he is really active espically when I feed him
Hi, I see my Common Pleco quite a lot. In the evening when the tank lights are on he is out and about looking for food and cleaning the glass. I also see him moving about in the daytime when the lights are off. He doesn't mind you looking at him but hides if you get too close. I have got to catch him soon to go into a new tank, I am not looking forward to that!
Hi, he is in a Juwel Rekord96 which is approx 20UKgals and he is going into a Juwel Rio 300 which I estimate is about 62 - 65 UKgals. He doesn't look cramped at the moment but I think he will enjoy the extra space. I am thinking what other fish to get (after a while). At the moment I have the Pleco 10", 10 Dalmation Mollies (all born in tank) and a Golden Apple Snail. They are going to look a bit lost in a 3 times bigger tank. Plus I would like some brighter coloured fish. I will probably get Platies, Guppies and some Neons if there is room. Don't know much about different kinds of fish and I like livebearers. The tank is my Xmas present. The Pleco could get to 2 feet but I have looked on a website about tropical fish and they said 30cms which is about 12" (I think, don't really do metric), so I'll have to wait and see what he maxs out at!
