Hexagon Tank Setup

Ok, first post.

I need help with setting up a hexagon tank (see pictures). I got out of fish hobby for many years and now am back. I believe this is a 35 gallon tank. The dimensions on clear-for-life align with these dimensions.

The bottom bulk heads I am going to seal. I drilled these a long time ago and had planned on building my own sump, but now I am wanting to be successful and not complicated. So, I am planning on using a Fluval 207 (Right?, I have always loved fluval, any other recommendations would be good).

I am having trouble finding a light that is narrow for hexagon tank and can penetrate the depth. I was thinking the Fluval plant spectrum 3.0. I want some automation and color effects, I also want to make a planted tank. But, the depth of tank freaks me out. Please help.

I have the same sized tank . I used a fluorescent 6500k t8 bulb in a hood with fixture assembly that came with the tank. . It seems pretty bright . I grow anubias and Hygrophilia deformis In the tank and have some floating plants as well. Tank has decent light coverage. I prefer lower light levels anyways for the comfort of my fish.
For filtering, I use an aquaclear 50 hob and also a airpump operated sponge filter. Works for me. I have a 200 watt aqueon pro heater and it does the job.

Here's some additional information on the winning tank:
"Fisherman's Paradise".......Japanese Zen Garden Themed 35 gallon tall hex tank

Inhabitants:
9 Serpae Tetra, 3 Black Skirt Tetra, 1 full grown Angelfish, 1 Bushynose Pleco

Equipment:
200 watt Aqueon shatterproof heater with two indicator leds ..heat on/ heat off
Aquaclear 50 filter loaded with 2 sponges, filter floss, and ceramics
Air pump operated sponge filter ... sized for 40 gallon tank
Danner two outlet air pump hooked to sponge filter and one airstone

Substrate:
two toned blue gravel, various sized rocks,

Additions:
custom made flagstone/rock platform/cave, handmade wooden Japanese bridge made from bamboo chopsticks and toothpicks, glazed clay "fisherman" ornament, manzanita driftwood to support upper level of anubias and a large malasian driftwood supporting lower level of anubias

Plantings: annubias nana, water wisteria, and watersprite (floating)

Fertilizers: Seachem Flourish complete once a week, Seachem Trace weekly, seachem root tabs

Water changes: 50% about every 7-9 days, also do moderate gravel clean using the python water changer device

Parameters:
0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 10 nitrates, hardness 175, temperature 77.3 (digital thermometer)

Filter service:
change filter floss and squeeze out sponges (in tank water) every two weeks
clean filter box and tubes monthly

Lighting:
15 watt 6500k t8 fluorescent tube and low powered led fixture...lights on 12 hours/day

Feeding:
Cobalt brand flake twice a day..freeze dried bloodworms about twice a week (presoaked), freeze dried daphnia occasionally, frozen shrimp as a treat, hikari algae wafer once or twice a week

One thing I didn't mention was that it has an acrylic lid as well that the light has to fit underneath... I will get a picture of that uploaded..

Is it clear?

If top is clear, you can rest the light on top of it. If it isn't clear, replace it with clear acrylic

Here are pictures of my hood. I would like to keep this with light underneath. I am also leaning towards LED. I have used florescent in the past, but I am trying to get on the bandwagon of the future.

Is it always raised like that? What aare the diementions of the rectandular hole in the center?

It is not always raised, I have two hoses going in a different portion of the hexagon lid. I did not put it on properly for this pic, but there is an opening in one side of hexagon.

I want advice on everything. But, really, I don't know how/what LED fixture to put under the hood.
