That darn betta is frustrating me to no end!

His tail was coming along fine, I could see that the ends were starting to grow back (transparent new tail near the ends)

This morning when I woke up, I saw that it's much much shorter now. He pratically looks like a short tailed crown when he flares. He's also managed to catch hold of his bottom fins as well.

Dang I wish they made little head cones for fish (like they have for dogs) or maybe I should drop a valium in there to keep him calm

He's always been a hyper betta, I've never seen him sleep during the day, and he's as active as a guppy! Probably a form of Betta A.D.D. anyone have any Ritalin I can borrow?

Sheesh! Here we go back on Bettafin.

PS> Does anyone know if it's harmful to treat longer than the 7 days they say on the bottle? If not, should I do his water change at the end of the course of treatment and start treatment again?

Oh dear, thought we'd cracked it! How about giving him a buddy in an a nearby tank to look at? I know you use a mirror on him, but maybe he could show of to a nearby lady  , or snarl at another pesky bloke :grr: ?

No idea on the meds question though, sorry LM! :dunno:

PS Did you move across country successfully? Not heard from you in a while, wondered if you were travelling!!

 @ the doggy head cone idea!! How cute would that be?!

No move yet OG, I'm planning on moving in August after school is done with the kids, and before school starts again.

I'm starting to think that I might have to go for a girlfriend for him... If I want him to have any fins left by the time we move!

The only problem will be that instead of one betta to move, it would be 2.... yuck!

Are you moving the other fishies in your sig too, or are they staying?

Moving fishies is a chore, I had to move mine twice in two months about eight years ago. Luckily I was only keeping coldwaters then, as the UK is hardly consistent temperature wise! They went from 80L, to a 40L on my gran's worktop, back to the 80L again when we finally got moved to where we were going! :X

I get worried transporting little fellas back from the lfs, as it is a good half hour away. I wrap the bags up in towels and nearly suffocate myself with the in car heating!!!

Hoping to get two little froggies later on, found an ace little lfs tucked away...

Isn't it wonderful when we find hidden treasures tucked away? More reason to get a new aquarium!

Actually I'll be leaving my other sig fish here. The only one I REALLY regret leaving is "Blue". He's such a gentle (with other species) gourami.

My sister in law has an aquarium, but she's a huge newbie to the hobby so I wouldn't trust her with Blue. I'll be giving her my pleco (she has a 50gal) and probably my white skirts as well as a few guppies and my swordtails.

My mother in Law will get the rest of my guppies, the black neons, and whatever is left will go to the LFS.

I really want to find a GOOD adoptive home for Blue though... need to find an experienced (more experience than my inlaws :*) ) fishkeeper around here.

Oh major thread drift!

Ummm back to betta problem... ummmm He's still active and eating well, the missing tail doesn't seem to be bothering him.

Edit: I'm lucky, I'll be moving in the same city as Freshmike lives and the next fish I will be keeping will be Freshmike's specialty! I have a young expert to help me out! WOOHOO!

If you can't get Ritalin, try Mountain Dew (very high caffine content) often the same results for the short term...

ALASKA

:*) OOOOOH, it's for the fish????? :*)
