He was a gorgeous looking betta

I've recently lost 2 bettas to dropsy, its heartbreaking that its just so difficult to cure

He had a long life and I'm sure he was thankful to have you as his owner

I'm so sorry about your betta. He's in fishie heaven now, so all's good.
When my betta died, I found just talking or thinking about him hard at first because I was so attached, but it really does help. I just recently lost (10 min. ago) six neon tetras from a water change accident so I know what you are going through.

Sadly I've never had a betta recover from dropsy... I lost about 7 in the past 3 months and have only one left.
