Per a few of the posts I've read on various forums, I purchased a few different sized empty hermit shells and put them in my tank this evening. I checked back on the tank a while later, and one of the new shells had a new owner already. Then, one of my blue legged hermits cozied up to another empty shell, totally checked it out, flipping it over, climbing all over it, then positioned it just the right way, popped out of his shell, and likity split shoved his bum into the other shell. It was wild!!
I'm a newbie to SW, so I'm sure you've all seen a naked hermie before, but that was my first. The back end of a hermit looks sort of like the curled end of a sea horse tail, but white and sort of creepy looking.
very cool, and I'm glad I saw it.
