Currently trying to breed my white clouds. There are 4 of them (lost one of them :-( ) in a 5 Gallon. It's heavily planted and has pom poms that I made similar to spawning mops and one male in particular has shown keen interest in them swimming around them. He's been chasing the females around alot but they never actually spawn. He's been doing this for over a week. I can't see any signs of fry, and I don't know what else to do, if I should move them into something shallower/smaller etc or just leave them.

I did try moving them into a 2.5 gallon and I left them for 3 days, after that I moved them back into the 5 gallon. For days after I couldn't see any signs of fry in the smaller tank and after a week and a half I gave up.

I don't want to interfere too much but its been well over a week with no results and I'd like a first time successful attempt at breeding them.

When I bred WCMM I power fed them with live foods then placed the best coloured male and fattest female into a tank with just a sponge filter and spawning mops. I continued feeding live food and after a few days I they spawned. Best to use microworms as live food. I used daphnia back then but it carries a high risk of disease.
