here fishy fishy?

Okay, I was at a fish store one time, and I SWEAR i saw a really awesome looking fish, and the tank said "DOGFISH" am I crazy? I have never seen this fish again..I would love to own one..does anyone know if there IS a dogfish??

I did a google search for "dogfish" and it came up with some sort of shark, so it does exist!!

Couldn't get much info on them in aquariums though, they look too big!

There are dog sharks, but even when they are young they're about 3 feet long (about 5 as an adult).

In Michigan we have a wild fish commonly called a dogfish, the DNR calls it a bowfin. I have caught a few and they are nasty fish, big teeth and get 3 feet long! Most people who catch them just leave them on the banks for amimals to eat since they are an introduced predator with no state regulations.

wow!! that is the coolest fish i have ever seen lol..i love it!! where do you thik i can find one??..(no that wasn't it) it was about 6 inches long..and really ugly....but thiss will do

There is a Saltwater DogFish. Was it salt water? Anyhow, my husband fell in love with this "dogfish" too. They were kind of ugly, but cute I guess at the same time. Not all LFS carry these guys, but I've seen them even at Petco and the more hardcore LFS that are really "fishy" about stuff
