Here is my frontosa, I just got him yesterday.
You can also see on this first pic the cichlid I am not sure about, can anyone ID it for me please.

Looks like a krib (Pelvicachromis pulcher) to me.

Nice fish.

Could my mystery cichlid be one of these?
Nannochromis transvestitus
Just seen a pic of one of these and the female that I have looks very similar to the pic I have seen.
Here is where I saw the pic.

saw it in the photographs section under africa, madagasgar and indian.

I'm almost 100% sure that's a krib. It looks just like mine. :)

I love your new frontosa! Very nice pictures!

My front is only young.
He is about a couple of inch, long possibly a little bigger. He is adorable and seems to be very placid. I have seen pics of these guys when they are adults and I love the look of them (even if they do look a little like a cling on from star trek with the big hump head.) I love the colours and mine rather suprisingly has been called Gill (his markings are the same as the angel fish in finding nemo!)
Yes I have found pics of kribs and am now convinced that the mystery fish is a krib. I have a heavily pregnant female krib too.
Are kribs the type of cichlid which carrys it's eggs in it's mouth once it has laid them or does it lay them in a corner and keep guard. What are they like as parents and how aggressive do they become?
