Hep With Pregnant Guppy

I have a guppy who has given birth to 9 fish but still is very fat and her rear end is very red and sore looking, can anyone help me please, yours bette boo

What color is your guppy? If she's a light color (orange, yellow, etc.) the red is perfectly normal. You're most likely looking at her gravid spot. If she's a darked color (black, brown, etc.) Her gravid spot should be brown or black, with some red. It's possible she's not finished yet, and will have more fry.

Have you seperated the fry from the mother, or is she in a breeder box/net? Is she in a community tank? You'll need to seperate the fry if you can (using a turkey baster to suck them up, or carefully with a net). And have you got food for them? Finely crushed flake, liquifry, Baby Brine Shrimp.

ya, she's probly not done delivering yet, keep an eye on her. congrats on the babies!

Our platties have been breeding like crazy. Ours tends to let 6 or so fry out over a period of days to a couple weeks. I'e been told this is common. It doesn't seem to bother them any.
