I remember reading about this in THE BOOK. There are a couple of reasons.
As Mutant stated that they are expelling their zooxanthellae (algae). This is not necessarily disastrous. They may be releasing excess zooxanthllae, this can or may not be indicative of bleaching, it can follow the introduction of the coral to a new aquarium or new lighting (have you moved it recently). They can also do this to exchange the strain of zooxanthellae that may be better for adapted to new conditions, ie new aquarium. There is no guarantee the coral will adopt a new strain of zooxanthelae.
