HELP!!!

As you bought from the same shop with the same result I am wondering if the shop keep their fish utilising a UV filter. We have an LFS that keeps all its fish using UV and i've had problems with these fish (not to the extent you've had). One problem with UV shop fish is that they may not be as hardy as none-UV fish. So when you put them into your tank any small infection can be disasterous (unless you have a UV system). Its worth asking the shop if they run a UV system.

We found the problem.

Our own test kit shows 0.025 for nitrites currently. However, tested in the lfs the nitrite comes up as 0.2 - which is way too high. So basicly, the test kit is faulty... :X

Bougth some water safe to get the nitrite back down, few hours later bf took watertest to another lfs in the area while walking the dog - and the nitrite had gone down to 0.1. Still too high, especially for fishes that come from 0.0000 nitrite tanks... thus causing only the new fishes to die...

:( SUCKS big time. Never gonna get test strips again...

Oh, btw the shop does run UV system - seen it. It's a bloody big garden centre/aquarium/ponds/pets etc. place.
