How your tank looks needs to be pleasing to you. As it is your tank you are the most important person and most affected by it.

First, do you have a water test kit? Second, your catfish (I'm guessing a cory) should be kept in groups of 3 or 4.

As for how to space your fish, someone with more knowledge about these specific fish would be better able to answer that.

all your tetra's should be in groups of at least 4, 5 is better. If it is a cory should be fine on it's own, I have 2 and they are never together and they are the oldest fish in my tank. The sword will be fine on his/her own.

The 20, is over stocked as it is, when cycled what are you doing with the goldfish???

you will need a heater, do you have one for the 10G. (I supose I should ask what your house temp is as a heater may not be needed if you life in a very hot part of the world.

I think thats it.

i have a heater on 76 for both tanks
the goldfish is to start the cycle there is 1 left this weekend i will put the good fish in i so i will put a nother cat in

Does your 10 gallon have a filter?

Move all the tetras to the 20 gallon and add 2 more of each species. Also move the swordtail and cory but add another cory. The 20 gallon will then be pretty much fully stocked and you can think about your 10. Maybe you can put the remaining goldfish in there.

I'd also like to point out that you said you started with 10 goldfish... now you have 1 left?! Are the other 9 dead? In future, if you must use a goldfish to cycle, only add one, or two at most, and don't heat the water until you remove it (still alive) and return it to the shop or put it in its own tank, give it away etc..
I don't approve of using fish in this way and would rather the goldfish remained alive, even if it takes a little longer to cycle the tank. There is no reason to assume that fish used to cycle a tank are expendable and will die. Please try to keep them alive or don't use fish to cycle at all.

thanks but that was the only way i knew how to until know

but i want to put smoething in the 10 gal

the 5 is for goldfish

5 gallon is way too small for one gf, you need at least 10 gallons for one fish. 20 would be more acceptable
