i just rescued a dark blue/puple betta it was in a tank in some TINY seperators smaller than cups but out in the tank were 2 other male bettas he has severly nipped off fins and when hes in the light he a bit of red in his fins is this fin rot caused by nipped fins or just nipped fins and will he survive.
P.S i have finrot treatment if i need it. :(

he also swims around a bit and the red in his fins is more of a pink and it does'nt look like finrot it looks natural colour.

definatly keep a close eye on him!

in my experience, bettas a really prone to internal bacterial infections! if you see any symptoms, treat accordingly asap.

as for the fins, i'm not sure! if they've been nipped, they may become infected?

check fishdoc for illness/disease info, and keep a good eye on him for a few weeks!

HTH

if you can, you should isolate the fish from other fish be carefull if you are going to treat him that you read the instructions and follow to the letter.

well i am going to closely monitor him over the next few days and take necessary action when needed
thnx 4 help

is the red you are seeing at the end of his fins or does it go all the way threw his fins? If it is just at the ends on his fins it could be due to high ammonia plus the factor he was nipped to death I think that is the most meanest thing anyone could do to these poor little fish. I know betta are mean to each other but they are truly the best fish anyone could own. Mine can see me comming and start showing out and trying to get me to notice him if I could I would grab mine out of the tank and give him a big hug every hour.
