Could well be that they're getting excess nutrients in their water, although could be other things as well. Got any leftovers from the last batch you got that you could run tests on? That would be the only way to know.

I too am currently mixing 25L of plain RO with pro reef salt. I used to use my lfs ready mixed water and found it was full of nitrates and phosphates.
I think they had too many complaints regarding this as they no longer sell ready mixed salt ro and instead sell the caribsea salt mix water in 10L containers.
There plain RO is not the best [Phos 0 - Nitrate 5] but its the only place I can get it from locally so it has to go in my tank im afraid.
I think its time I invested in an RO unit!
Hows your tank looking this morning mate?.......That extra CUC should sort out the brown and extra flow will keep it at bay.
