Help !

i have two paradise fish and they were both very dull so i assumed they were both female.. but all of a sudden one has changed to be very colourful with its fins widly spread and they seem to be circling !!
Also its gills are flaring a lot.. doe sthis mean they are goin to breed or somethign else..

i have had experience paradise fish and they are not breeding.
If their tail fin has pointy corners and the fish are bright in colour they are a male. if they are both male i would seperate them or they will fight till death

well only one of them has a wide spread tail.. and they other ones is closed.. does this mean its frightened? ... maybe i should take the black one back because it is hiding ... at first the colourful one was hiding but now the other one is
