My congo tetra has been swimming sideways for a few days but today he just lies at the bottom of the tank i move him to another tank so the other fish would leave him alone and i can see he is still breathing but it is as if he cant move his tail is there anything i can do?

My little tetra's fins work all exept his tail he seems to be a fighter and is still eating any advice please!!!!!

I'm sorry to say this but I don't know what to say to you . If he is still eating I think there might be a way to save him. If you have put hime in another tank than the other fish, thats good. Well, i think you shoud put some cycle in the tank or some water conditioner. Make water changes every other day(10%). And keep feeding him and please tell me what happens to the fish. 8)

Have you tested your water for ammonia or nitrites? These are very toxic to fish and will cause them to suffocate, hence a good reason to cycle a tank before buying the fish.

All my other fish in the tank are fine and the tank i have ive had for over 1 year and my fish have never had this problem the tank i have upstairs was set up 3 months ago which is alot smaller and i used water from the tank down stairs to start it but i have moved all the fish downstairs so he has it all to himself and i double checked the water and its fine in both tanks i just dont know whats wrong my other congo tetras are fine.
