Help

I would post in the right part of the forum.
Give some more information of size of tank and water stats.

The ph was 8
i have movede the fish to a 1ft tank so it will not spred
i have given them sera oodinopur and tera medica
and put the temp on 28
it is my oscar that is olso geting black

i would say youve probably gone through a ph burn maybe? being at 8 it may have been enough but ive only seen it where ph has gone to major low levels, turned it albino basically. could it also be that youve burnt it due to high temperatures?

pH problems usually come from swings, and 28 doesn't sound too high, but I don't know about CKs.

I've only seen a few pictures of them on goldfish, and never actually seen them in person, but could the black spots be ammonia or other chemical burns? What are your water stats: ammonia, nitrite, nitrate?

I do not have a test kit for that yet i will buy one on fryday
also my dwaf gouramies are geting black and my elephant nose is dead

yup this could also be ammonia, your elephant nose was going to be the first to go if there was any trouble at all as it would be if you had a ghost knife like myself, bumer dude, hope you can get things fixed.

I also have a black ghost knife fish in a ather tank with a fire eel grate fish
i love knife fish i also have a african knife fish

yeah i just lost my 2 knife fish to an ammonia spike, defo recommend watching the water and if possible testing as much as possible with those guys. even the slightest change will kill them as i found out the hard way, still trying to figure out how my new frontosa managed to jump a foot into the air and 2 foot away from the tank though hmm, poor lil bugger, very expensive to :(

The nitrite is 0
the nitrate is 15
so i will have to buy a ammonia test kit

mm i would say your nitrate is a lil high but nitrite is deffinately on the ball

im not sure how high is ok for nitrate befor it becomes a problem thats all so not sure:)
