Help!

I'm no expert by any means at all, but I would guess since they are so small they may just not be paired up yet. Do you ever notice the bigger one bossing around the smaller one?

yes i do sometimes the bigger one will chase after the smaller one...also they seem to swim together all the time at night when it turn lights off except the LED's they seem to pick a corner and swim together in it.

we don't know what that is.... what it online or at a local shop?

That could be a very good sign. :good:

yes dr macs and house of tropicals are local fish stores...no online for me i dont exactly trust it...i like to see what im buying.

well maybe they are paired if they swim together. I thought you were saying they were always apart. This usually means good things to come... just make the littler one doesn't take a beating if the bigger ones gets a little too rough.

I would guess in bying the lr from a shop, that it was fully live but there was also die-off because of the lack of nutrition in the lr tank at the shop (unless it was taken out of a display with fish and corals). So atleast a full 3 weeks to a month is usually needed for the die-off to complete to be ready for a cuc (clean up crew).

I think you should ask your friend what stats they were seeing and then let us know. They should be checking everything that Kj23502 has outlined in one of the first posts. Im wonderinf your tank is still trying to catch up with the cycle

it could be possible but yes when i have my lights on they are always swimming apart from each other but when i turn all lights off but the LED's (at night) they swim together in a corner so maybe they are becoming a pair slowly. and i have snails but like i said i tryed to get a cleaner shrimp but the clowns kill him :(.

Did you see the clowns kill them? Cause if you just found two corpses, then I'm guessing it might be that your tank was not fully cycled. Also, inverts will molt, which leaves a clear exoskeleton that looks like a dead form of the shrimp/crab that appears to have been eaten from the inside out.

Talk to your buddy and if they still remember what the stats were then, post them on here and I would have them re-test the water now and also post those. I would recommend helping with the re-test as well so you can learn to do this on your own (it really is very simple)

kk will do and yes i watched them pick on my goby and my shrimp.

pick on the dead goby and the shrimp, or pick on them while they were alive?

Well thats clowns for you, they are part of the damsel family, they are quite aggressive whenever they want to be.

so i finally decided i took my clowns back to my LFS they gave me some money for them and i picked myself up a awesome blue spotted jawfish possibly the coolest fish ive ever seen besides the trippy mandarins. i decided if i get clowns its gonna be last and ima get a very small pair of clowns so they know they dont own the fing tank.

My female perc really damaged a mandarin that i added to their tank...it died a couple of days later :S
My female can be real nasty. Shes the fattest and largest perc ive actually seen! She attacks me, certain corals and yeah...pretty but mean :D

they attack your mandarin thats weird...most fish dont attack mandarins because they are somewhat poisonous...at night youll notice they have like a clear white coating over them.
